3. What type of concrete do you take?

UPLOOP accepts all types of non-contaminated concrete waste. This includes concrete from construction projects, excess from new constructions, and leftover material from site works.

Process and Operations

4. What geographical areas does UPLOOP serve?

Presently, we operate within the M5 loop of London. We plan on expanding our services further as we grow.

5. What is the process for collecting concrete waste?

We work with you to determine the most appropriate vessel(s) for your site’s needs, deliver the vessel(s) on-site, and provide training for their use. We either schedule regular collections or take 24 - 48-hour collection orders from you as needed. Our transport vehicles arrive, collect the material, and deliver it to our partner recycling centres. You are provided with transfer notes and weigh bridge information weekly or monthly as required.

6. What happens to the concrete waste once it is collected?

We collect material at our partner recycling centres into a dedicated space, which then gets crushed back into aggregate suitable for new concrete production.

7. How often do you collect?

The collection frequency depends on the client’s needs and the volume of waste generated. We typically offer customisable collection schedules ranging from daily to weekly pickups, ensuring we meet your project's specific requirements.

8. How many bags do you need to collect?

We do not have a minimum number of bags for collection. Our goal is to provide flexible solutions tailored to the needs of each project, whether it's a small quantity from a single site or large volumes from multiple locations.

9. What are the pricing options for UPLOOP's services?

Our simplified pricing structure is a flat monthly subscription plus collection fees similar to current waste collection costs.

10. Is UPLOOP's service cost-effective compared to traditional methods?

Yes, by optimising logistics and reducing waste, our services can be more cost-effective by lowering overall project costs related to waste management. We charge a flat monthly fee for reporting and sustainability efforts and charge our collections at favourable market rates comparable to other waste stream collection services.

Unlike traditional services, we focus specifically on concrete waste and provide a full suite of services that include not just collection and disposal but also recycling and data-driven insights to improve waste management practices. We provide our clients with monthly reports of collections that can be used for waste management reporting, as well as a Certificate of Sustainability and a Newsletter describing our services suitable for promoting your efforts towards sustainable practices internally or with case studies for associations, LinkedIn posts, etc.

UPLOOP specialises in streamlining the entire waste management process. Our service includes comprehensive waste tracking and reporting, which supports your sustainability goals and compliance needs and aims to improve environmental impact assessments.

While we do not guarantee direct improvements in BREEAM scores, our services support the goals of BREEAM by enhancing waste management and materials sustainability, which can contribute to higher scores. We believe our services are innovative, and we will work with you to apply for an Innovation Credit Application to submit to the BREEAM assessors.

16. We already recycle our concrete, so why should we use your service?

While it's great that you're already recycling concrete, UPLOOP can enhance your efforts by providing more efficient logistics and higher-quality recycling processes. Our service ensures that recycled concrete is processed to meet industry standards for reuse, and our detailed documentation can help boost your BREEAM or LEED scores, furthering your sustainability credentials.

We collaborate with certified recycling centres to process collected concrete into high-quality recycled aggregates suitable for various construction applications. The collected material is tested and certified before being used in new concrete production.

19. What permits, certifications, etc., do you have?

UPLOOP has Waste Carrier Registration in the UK and works with partners that carry out all required permits, registrations, and insurance. Specific details can be provided on request, ensuring transparency and compliance with industry standards.

Extra Services

24. Can UPLOOP provide emergency waste collection services?

While we usually request 24 - 48-hour collection notifications, we have successfully organised collections within 24 hours through our partner transportation services network.

25. How does UPLOOP plan to expand or evolve its services?

We are progressing on our digital solution for ordering and data management to be implemented in Q3 2024. We are also developing bespoke vessels designed exclusively for excess concrete collection and disposal that enhance the use cases for construction and RMX sites, as well as for transportation companies and recycling centres.
